Les Airelles HOTEL OF FABLES
Courchevel is a French ski resort located in Savoy. It consists of five separate villages, each of which is named after its altitude. Courchevel 1850 is the highest and is also regarded as one of the most prestigious places to ski in the world. And it’s here that the unique Les Airelles hotel is hidden away.
Apart from receiving the award of ‘World’s Best Mountain Hotel’ in 2015 by Conde Nast Traveller magazine, Les Airelles is included in the French tourism ministry’s ‘Palace’ category, indicating that it is an example of the highest level of excellence in the hotel industry in France.
Les Airelles is a worthy tribute to the most enchanting castles of classic fables. It looks directly onto the ski region of the Trois Vallees, the world’s largest skiing area, and is diffused with a magical and enchanting atmosphere.
The owner, known as ‘Madame’, seems to have been inspired by the life of the Empress Elisabeth of Austria when refurbishing the hotel, and the interior, which was recently renovated by Christophe Tollemer, still shows this intention.
Courchevel is probably the world’s most luxurious skiing destination, most of its hotels being of recent construction and of the highest quality. Among these, Les Airelles is not only a hotel of the top range, but also a place offering a different and unique, indeed magical, experience.
